The season finale against the Dodgers at Oracle Park was Fan Appreciation Day. The Giants had several giveaways with a grand prize of a Toyota RAV4 going to one lucky fan.
The Giants planned to give one lucky fan at Sunday’s season finale a Toyota Rav4 to wrap up Fan Appreciation Day.
The Giants determined this winner by randomly selecting a seat at the stadium, which would end up being a misguided decision against one of baseball’s largest fanbases. Yup, that’s because a Dodgers fan ended up winning that Giants Fan Appreciation Day grand prize.
Neither Bochy nor any of the Giants fans in attendance to support him on Sunday won the giveaway contest.
The Giants had a base of 26,000 season ticket-holders that played a pivotal role in keeping the team among the top half of MLB franchises in total attendance this season, but the number of fans purchasing season-ticket packages is expected to decline next year following the Giants’ third consecutive sub-.500 season.
